Building Skills to Keep America Moving.

Programs

The transport industry faces a nationwide skills shortage driven by several major factors. First, pervasive technological advances abound in the transport industry. These changes include automatic next stop announcements, electronic vehicle location systems and hybrid-electric propulsion technology. Second, workforce demographics are changing as more and more baby boomer age technicians retire and younger workers step up to take their place. Increased ridership and the expansion of transit systems.

To address these looming changes the Center developed three programs that bring labor and management together in developing productive solutions.
