Building Skills to Keep America Moving.

Transit Training Career Ladder Partnerships

Funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration and working with local transit agencies and their unions throughout the United States, the Center helps build labor-management training partnerships. Since 2002, this program has provided training for over 9,000 transit mechanics and leveraged $14 million in state training grants.

Partnerships in Pennsylvania (through the statewide Keystone Training Partnership), Utah, upstate New York, and northern California are proving that data driven labor-management training programs are highly cost-effective in upgrading workforce skills.

The Center has conducted numerous research studies on the benefits of labor-management partnership based training programs. These reports can be found under Publications.
