Consortium Member, Hennepin Tech Graduates First Light Rail Technicians

At Hennepin Technical College, the aspiring light rail technicians were trained in robotics, electronics and fluid power. The graduates also had 2½ years of paid training at existing Metro Transit light rail vehicle facilities in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Forty-three Senate Democrats, as well as Independents Bernie Sanders and Angus King, wrote Monday that a Trump administration proposal to create a system of industry-recognized apprenticeships would undermine current protections involving workplace safety, wages and quality.
