Ansaldo STS Becomes First OEM to Formally Support the National Signals Training Consortium

The Signals Training Consortium recently received permission from AnsaldoSTS (a Hitachi Group Company) to use their manuals and other materials in the training courseware produced by the Consortium.

“Ansaldo STS USA, Inc authorizes the copy, reproduction, disclosure, and/or transfer of any contents of the documents located on Ansaldo STS USA’s product support web site’s service manuals section… to be used by the Transportation Learning Center for the purpose of the creation of a standardized suite of training materials to be used by the Transportation Learning Center’s participating railroads”.

This is very good news for the Consortium and opens the door for other OEMs to participate by following up with their own permission letters. All the Consortium’s materials formally give attribution to the OEM from which a schematic, photo, narrative contents etc. comes. The advantage to the OEMs is that their name and content will ultimately be seen by dozens of new and incumbent signal maintainers as the work their way through training using the Consortium’s materials.
