The Transportation Learning Center Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Posted November 2016

The Transportation Learning Center has been at the forefront of championing registered apprenticeship program for frontline occupations in the public transportation industry. Currently there is a wide range of apprenticeship work being undertaken by the Center and its industry partners from management and labor, in collaboration with community organizations and education institutions. Ahead of the 2016 National Apprenticeship Week, the Center hosted a number of events to continue promotion of registered apprenticeship as the gold standard to addressing frontline skills gaps in transportation, including presentations for uprising transit maintenance leaders and members of public transportation associations, and forums and technical assistance for rail transit agencies in the Signals and Rail Car Consortium to implement apprenticeship programs.
