VTA Conference and Expo

ITLC/TWC Executive Director Jack Clark and Senior Policy Analyst Karitsa Holdzkom joined the Virginia Transit Association (VTA)’s May 23-24 in Virginia Beach. Jack Clark moderated VTA's opening plenary session on “The Bus Operator Crisis and Other Workforce Challenges,” facilitating a conversation with ATU International Vice President Yvette Trujillo, TransitCenter’s Chris Van Eyken, and Transit Consultant Patrick Parents. An engaging audience discussion followed, which then continued the next morning when Jack addressed VTA's Transit Champions VIP Breakfast on "The Value of Transit,” emphasizing the significant positive workforce and environmental impacts of the industry, as well as various sources of funding available for transit workforce development initiatives.
