The International Transportation Learning Center (ITLC), founded in 2001, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to advancing public transit and other transportation sectors at the national level and within communities. To accomplish this mission, ITLC builds partnerships between labor and management that improve organizational capacity and expand worker skills and career opportunities.

ITLC is seeking experienced facilitators to facilitate our Train-the-Trainer (TtT) program. The TtT course helps subject matter experts (SMEs) and frontline leaders build the instructional and facilitation skills needed to effectively train others. This highly interactive course is built on adult learning principles and includes facilitation skills, lesson planning, learner engagement strategies, and practical teach-back sessions.

Facilitators will work as independent contractors to facilitate scheduled in-person TtT sessions throughout the U.S. This is not a full-time position, but rather a recurring opportunity based on course demand and facilitator availability. Each course is typically 5 days in length, often involving Sunday travel, and held onsite at participating agencies.

Responsibilities:

Facilitate the full Train-the-Trainer course, delivered over 5 days
Lead activities and discussions that reinforce adult learning theory and instructional best practices
Provide feedback and coaching to participants during teach-back sessions
Represent ITLC professionally in all communications with host agencies and participants
Coordinate with ITLC’s training team before and after the session (agendas, materials, follow-up)

Qualifications:

The following are the qualifications for the position:

Required:

  • Experience facilitating adult learning or Train-the-Trainer programs
  • Background in workforce development, instructional design, education, or similar
  • Working knowledge of key instructional design theories
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage group dynamics and adapt to varied classroom environments
  • Comfortable with travel for in-person sessions (expenses covered by ITLC)

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of or experience in the public transit and/or manufacturing industries
  • Experience working in or with a labor-management partnership

Compensation: $50 – $65/hour (based on experience), plus travel expenses
